Dear Community Member,
You are receiving this email as you have expressed an interest in the Soldiers Pass Road/89A Community Focus Area. A Revised Draft Plan for the Soldiers Pass Road Community Focus Area (CFA) is now available for review. Sedona City Council will be holding a work session next Wednesday, March 9th at 3:00 pm to discuss the revised draft plan (at City Hall, 102 Roadrunner Drive, in the City Council Chambers).
The meeting agenda and packet that includes a copy of the draft plan (page 5 of the packet) is available on the website:

The Soldiers Pass Road "Community Focus Area" is one of 13 CFAs that were identified in the Sedona Community Plan as areas in need of more specific planning to address future land uses and Community Plan goals. The planning process began with workshops at the Elks Lodge during the summer of 2014. A draft plan was developed based on the public outreach, then reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission at multiple work sessions and public hearings. City Council began their review of the draft plan in April 2015. Council asked staff to research lodging issues not just specific to this area, but the City as a whole. There have since been several work sessions with Council about lodging, which has resulted in a revised draft plan for this CFA.

The most significant changes to the draft plan address lodging in the area around Soldiers Pass Road and 89A. This will be the focus of Wednesday's discussion and Council may provide direction on further revisions to the draft plan. There may be opportunity to comment if you are interested. CFA Plans are complete when approved by City Council at a public hearing, which has not been scheduled yet.

If you have any questions or comments, let me know!
